I have a very “intimate” contact with the wood I use for making furniture. Over the past 10 years I have been building up my timberstoke again with locally grown hardwoods, mostly pear, some apple, ash, birch, cherry, elm, walnut and oak. With one or two exceptions I know where the tree was standing, and was present at the sawmill for the sawing.
