The unique qualities of the bole (sawn and dried tree trunk) selected for the cupboard is then my inspiration. I compose the piece in a step by step process as I discover the wood. There may be unexpected suprises, some good and others not so good. One or both of the edges of the board(s) may give the “shape” to the piece of furniture. I may introduce different woods for handles and drawers, or the complete inside section for contrast, but this I only find out on the way.
