My aim is to leave the finished surface with as finely cut surface as possible. Traces of the finishing cut may be discernable dependent on the tool. Any form of sanding is avoided.
The final treatment of the surface, i.e. an oil or waxed surface, is dependent on the function of the piece of furniture.
It is interesting to note that a flat cut surface without treatment, which has not been though the “sanding process”, has afar greater resistance to liquids.
